F&C Fridays - Face Mask & Chill with Kellie (Clay Mask Edition)

Hello wine-lovers and beauty enthusiasts of the world! Welcome to our monthly F&C (weekly would be ideal - we would love that. I don't know if it'd be a good habit to pick up. I mean, I could say it's for the job). So get ready for this face mask and fucking chill sesh with your kult babe, Kellie.

So to kick off our first F&C Fridays, I'll pamper myself with a face mask and some wine for myI mean, for you guys. I know you all need to know which two are the perfect pair! I will be having them together; however, disclaimer (!) I might be impaired to make a judgement depending on how much wine I've had.

Regardless, I'll give it a crack. I'm a light drinker and I'll crash or throw up at some point... but not to worry, I'll make it through and if I don't? YOU WILL KNOW.

My rating system will be out of 5 stars because frankly 10 stars seems a bit too much and 5 seems pretty easy and 3 doesn't make any sense. I enjoy drinking Pinot, Merlot and Shiraz (or anything with alcohol).

I'm reviewing a new favouriteof mine - The Zonzo Estate - 2019 Pinot Noir, which is now available at Dan Murphy's for about $26.99 (which I would say is high in price for a bottle of wine; this is premium wine bottle level because y'know - I'm so fancy). I was gifted this bottle from a friend who went to the Zonzo Estate in Yarra Valley and came back with a bottle of their Shiraz and I *loved* it! So, I went back there and fell in love with their Pinot Noir (NOTE: I'm a sucker for good packaging). The sleek, black embossed glass bottle just exudes elegance, I am deceased.

This wine is rich in plum fruit, berries and spice with notes of dried thyme (see how I said 'notes', I'm practically a professional wine reviewer now). The wine is light and smooth - the flavour is subtle and it paints the picture of Victorian Yarra Glenn local winery perfectly. You can definitely taste that perfection between fruit and balanced oak. Also, did I mention the superb packaging? I highly recommend this wine to anyone starting out or looking for something light. Definitely a winner and a safe bet for me.

They also have an amazing establishment (oh, the views) with amazing Italian food for lunch and dinner if you ever want to tour country Victoria, Australia. The only downside is they're always busy and you'll need to book in advance and it does get loud so you'll be shoutingbut there's good wine and food!

Now, the mask I'll be using tonight is the Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask 2X (note this is not the original onethis is the 2x one!) This mask has crushed Jeju Volcanic Clusters, which is Innisfree's iconic ingredient in their skincare product line. I also have the original version, which is not a disappointment so maybe I'm biased? Oh well, moving along...

After washing my face, I applied this product on, let's just say this product feels *luxe* on the skin! Just like the original, it glides on smoothly and doesn't leave you flaking around the house. This is meant to be the *super strength* version, which is meant to clear your pores 2x more than the original and I have to say it did leave my skin feeling fresh and clean! Although the thick and creamy consistency makes me question whether it is 'exfoliating', it does have AHA, which exfoliates chemically (AHAs are known to be 'skin peelers' and help safely remove the outer layer of skin).

I do have deep/large pores and exfoliation and clearing of the pores was not this product's strongest point, however for the price and quality, it's no wonder Innisfree is making itself a staple in our skincare routines!

Even though the mask is not as '2x pore exfoliating', my skin felt smooth and didn't dry out (sensitive skin peeps I gotchu)! The gentleness of this cream and the end result is ahhh-ma-zing! I think with regular use, this mask will be a winner with more visible results. Although I could just be getting a bit tipsy, the wine is fantastic! The two is a match made in heaven! My skin feels great, I feel great. Until next time.

*DRUM ROLL*

How to repair a damaged skin barrier (from someone who has had to repair their skin barrier multiple times)

Skin irritations and allergies are never fun, but a damaged skin barrier is a whole new level of hell. The good news, is that our skin is a resilient organ and can heal relatively quickly. The not-so-good news is that you'll need to peel back all your fancy skincare for the time being, get consistent with a simple routine, and resist putting any active ingredients on your skin until it heals. You can do it, let's get into it!

Beauty of Joseon's Revive Eye Serum: Does it live up to the hype?

This is the first eye cream I ever used to completion

Listen, I've always been a bit sketchy on eye creams and serums. Are they actually necessary? Do you even need one? Why are they so tiny but so expensive? I'll be honest: I didn't bother during my 20s and early 30s. If it was good enough for the rest of my face, it was good enough for my eye contour area! Then my late 30s hit me like a trout slap in the face, and so did the sudden dryness, fine lines, and pilling if I dared to wear makeup.

The Best Eye Cream? We've tried it

What does an eye cream do? Well, it pretty much does what a moisturizer would. It can hydrate, soothe, treat fine lines, hyperpigmentation, etc. So do eye creams really make a difference? And is an eye cream really better than moisturizer for your face? The answer is, they can indeed make a difference to your skin AND they can be better.
