let's recycle!

Yay—let's recycle! Here’s a quick guide for when you've finished using all your products:

1. Make the products 'recycle ready' by rinsing it out and cleaning it. What if the product doesn't work for me? Give it to someone who might like to try it! That way, you will minimise wastage and give the product a second home. ♡♡

2. Get the DETAILS! Typically, most skin care packaging is recyclable in Australia, but what can and can’t be recycled depends on where you live. A quick Google search will reveal a recycling guideline based on your state / territory.

3. Can I put this in my recycling bin? If you've checked and the answer is 'yes', give these items a second life and put them in the recycling bin. If it's not, look into enterprises like TerraCycle, to help you properly recycle your beauty products. If the product is recycable through TerraCycle, it is FREE and all you have to do is gather your empty products together, print a recycling label and ship it out - that’s it! They’ll take care of the rest for you.

FYI, recycling plants uses numbers ranging from 1 to 7 to help sort all the materials. PETE stands for Polyethylene Terephthalate and PP stands for Polypropylene — these are both plastics. PAP represents paper / mixed paper / cardboard. See Earth Easy to learn more about your plastics.

That's it babes! Remember to love our earth; love our planet! #dontbetrashy

Purito - Daily Go-To Sun Cream - 60ml

It's baaaack! Protect your skin this summer with the Daily Go-To Sun Cream from Purito. This replaces its cult hit, the now discontinued Centella Green Level Safe Sun after that SPF scandal. And we think it's even better.

Purito's new SPF is formulated with both chemical and physical filters. It leaves your skin just as dewy as the original, and also uses soothing ingredients like cica, madecassoside and vitamin E. Like its precedessor, it offers a sheer finish and is suitable even for deeper skin tones (for very dark skin tones or for those wanting a completely invisible sunscreen, we would still recommend Black Girl Sunscreen or SVR Sun Secure Blur). Best of all, it offers SPF50+ PA++++ broadspectrum protection from UV rays (as per testing by Canadian Lab Abich). We find its silky texture even more lightweight than the old one, making it highly blendable and perfect under makeup. Sensitive skin people, rejoice: there are no fragrances or essential oils in this one.

For a swatch and a comparison to its old Green Level sunscreen, have a look at our YouTube vid here.

Safe for all skin types. Oily skin can probably wear this on its own without a moisturizer, as it's fairly nourishing.

After finishing your skin care morning routine, apply Purito's SPF gently to the skin before applying foundation.

Let's Be Sunsmart! ☼

The best practice is to apply 30 minutes before going outside to allow the sunscreen to bind to your skin. Re-apply every two hours of exposure and immediately after swimming or excessive sweating. Even when it's cloudy, up to 80 percent of the sun's UV radiation still reaches the earth.

Precautions:
Stop using the product immediately and consult a dermatologist when redness, swelling, or other skin irritations occur, and consult a physician. Avoid applying the product on open wounds or skin inflammation. Keep away from direct sunlight and out of reach of infants and children.

Our Review on the New Purito Daily Go-To Sunscreen

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Purito Daily Go To Sunscreen safe?

The Purito Sunscreen has come a long way from the days of its SPF scandal! The Purito Daily Go To Sunscreen is safe to use; its SPF rating has been tested by Canadian Lab Abich (you can access the full results here - https://puritoen.com/daily-sunscreen-pdf.html) and was found to have a rating of SPF50+ PA++++. This means it's broadspectrum protection for your skin. Mind, it has not been tested by the local Australian body (the TGA) - a lot of international sunscreens haven't bothered to submit their formulas for testing by the TGA unless they consider Australia to be one of their prime markets. If you have skin sensitive to UV rays or spend a lot of time in the Aussie sun, we always recommend opting for a TGA-approved brand. Hopefully, the number of TGA-approved SPFs expand in the future, because for women of colour, the options are severely limited - something internationally-approved SPFs help with.

Is Purito Daily Go To Sunscreen good for acne prone skin?

The Purito Daily Go To Sunscreen is pretty good on acne prone skin, given its lightweight, silky texture. Plus, there are no fragrances or essential oils. But if your skin is especially oily, we reckon Purito's Soft-Touch Sun Cream is even better: it's silicone-free, and dries down matte.

What skin type is Purito Daily Go To Sunscreen for?

The Purito Daily Go To Sunscreen is designed to be a crowd-pleasing formula that's good on most skin types: dry, sensitive and combination. It also makes a decent base under makeup. It's not completely invisible though, given it is a hybrid formula. While most skin tones shouldn't notice anything, dark to very deep skin tones should opt for a purely chemical formula instead.

Is Purito Daily Go To Sunscreen a chemical or physical sunscreen?

The Purito Daily Go To Sunscreen is a hybrid formula - meaning it uses both chemical and physical UV filters.

Does Purito Daily Go To Sunscreen leave a white cast?

Like its precedessor (the old Centella Green Level), this Purito SPF offers a sheer finish and is suitable even for deeper skin tones. But as we've previously mentioned, for very dark skin tones or for those wanting a completely invisible sunscreen, we would still recommend a pure chemical formula like Black Girl Sunscreen.
